So good. So evocative...Summer '78, I've just turned 15, so much was happening and changing in my life and the charts were a real mixed bag. I just had to remind myself of the charts around that time and found that Buzzcocks were in the company of the Smurfs, Blue Oyster Cult, Smokie. David Soul and Showaddywaddy, as well as the Clash, the Motors, Steel Pulse and Ian Dury.
The charts were very, very good in 1978 although it might just be that I have a selective memory as that was the year I left home and experienced true independence for the first time.
C is right though, it was a real mixed bag with something for everyone, even Smurfs!
