New Amusements

Cover Charges

The premise of Cover Charge is simple. Artist A covers artist B, then B covers C and C covers D, and so on and so forth, until I loop round and eat my own tail, Ouroboros-style, by getting back to the start with The Specials. Anyway, here's the chain to date.

  1. The Specials to Toots & The Maytals - Monkey Man
  2. Toots & The Maytals to Radiohead - Let Down
  3. Radiohead to Neil Young - Cinnamon Girl
  4. Neil Young to Bruce Springsteen - My Hometown
  5. Bruce Springsteen to Jesse Malin - She Don't Love Me Now
  6. Jesse Malin to The Replacements - Bastards of Young
  7. The Replacements to REM - Radio Free Europe
  8. REM to Editors - Munich
  9. Editors to The Cure - Lullaby
  10. The Cure to Depeche Mode - World In My Eyes
  11. Depeche Mode to David Bowie - Heroes
  12. David Bowie to Pixies - Cactus
  13. Pixies to The Jesus and Mary Chain - Head On
  14. The Jesus and Mary Chain to Prince - Alphabet Street
  15. Prince to Sheryl Crow - Everyday is a Winding Road
  16. Sheryl Crow to Peter Gabriel - Digging in the Dirt
  17. Peter Gabriel to Vampire Weekend - Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa
  18. Vampire Weekend to Andrea Bocelli - Time to Say Goodbye / Con Te Partirò
  19. Andrea Bocelli to Leonard Cohen - Hallelujah
