After meeting as students of Manchester's Royal Northern College of Music, Jimmy, Reuben, Aoife and Paddy formed Westside Cowboy in 2023. Two years later they won Glastonbury's Emerging Talent Competition. And last week I heard Well Done Kid, You Did It on an early morning 6 Music show, and rather liked it. I don't know if it's the overlapping guitar motifs, or the overlapping vocals, or Cure-ish bass line, or percussion that sounds like it's in a hurry, or what... but this is good, isn't it?
The band released their debut album It Goes On in August of this year. You can find out more about that, and them, at westsidecowboy.bandcamp.com
