Roddy Frame is one of those artists for whom I have a bit of a blind spot. I know, I know, what a parochial heathen I am. But I heard this on Radliffe and Maconie's 6Music show a few weeks back and it floored me. So here it is.
Same. I spent a very happy (read: off my face on hash cakes) hour or so outside the acoustic tent at Glastonbury one year, listening to Roddy play. He did (I think: see off my face on hash cakes) the Aztec Camera favourites, but not (I think: see off my face on hash cakes) this, which is pretty great for a cover version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COtZZmWKcRI
Gorgeous. Definitely going on my misery playlist, alongside https://youtu.be/SdSCCwtNEjA which I can't stop listening to currently, particularly as the girl in the video reminds me of a colleague.
Beautiful stuff.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of Aztec Camera albums "Love" and "Stray" but don't know much about Roddy Frame's solo career.
It is beautiful, isn't it?
DeleteI may have to address my Frame blind spot.
