I've got the key to the door

I don't think turning 21 has quite the significance it once did, but it is still the minimum age in the UK for adopting a child and for supervising a learner driver. Regardless of such useless trivia, this blog is 21 today and, somehow, still here, albeit with plenty of style and location changes. Incredible really but, long as that seems, I have older band t-shirts. Anyway, sorry for all the crap posts.

Here's an appropriate song by The Cranberries, and a reminder of why the late Dolores' voice stood out so much.

  1. Congratulations. New Amusements can now legally drink in America if it wants to.

    1. Thanks, C. I'll try not to but who knows, 21 is like 91 in blog years, or something. On its last legs!

  3. PS Agree about Dolores' voice, it can be both serenely gentle and so strong too - just the other night I was watching one of those old re-runs of ToTP (1999) and was so impressed with their performance of 'Promises'. I don't remember ever hearing/seeing before, superb.

  5. Old, old, old! ;-) I think my own blogging began 20 years ago this December... though I'm unlikely to remember to mark the occasion when it comes round.

Anyway, I'm glad you're still here.

Great persistence sir! At this rate your blog will be looking forward to a state pension!

    1. By the time the blog is that old, there probably won't be a state pension! Plus I'll be brown bread.

  8. Slightly belated best wishes! It's some achievement for any blog to reach its 21st Birthday given how much work is involved and the sad fact that the genre is nowhere near as popular as it was in its heyday of back in the mid-00s. More power to your fingertips, Martin.

    1. Cheers, appreciated. I've only lasted this long by being the very opposite of prolific!

  9. Belated birthday wishes from me too. That's quite an achievement. Blogging may be less popular now than in its heyday but maybe only the quality blogs survive, like this one. Please keep going.
