With apologies in advance to the delightful C and all other AI sceptics. I'm a sceptic too, if that helps...
Experimenting with ChatGPT some more, I attempted my usual baseline of getting it to create something you'd never see. But unlike Sora, it's fussy about real people... requiring me, ironically, to get creative in the wording of my prompt.
I like the way it guided me in how to get around its own constraints. And the result?
Addendum
John was much smarter than me. He asked, "Can you create a photograph of someone who looks like the singer Morrissey eating a burger in a McDonalds resturant?" And this is what he got back:

As Martin knows, I too have been a very naughty boy (no, I'm not the Messiah). He may share with you my equally childish request to AI. With apols to C (I feel any reference to AI will be prefaced with that trigger warning).

Yes! See the addendum, above.
DeleteYou are my friends, I forgive you both!
ReplyDeleteThank you, C. And given the exploitative ticket prices for Moz's recently announced one-off show at the O2 in February, this is the only way I'm going to be seeing him!
DeleteSO this is funny as well as disturbing (AI is bad is my standpoint but its not going away so we have to learn to live with it). John's picture is frighteningly good
ReplyDeleteYou think this is disturbing, you should see some of the videos being produced using Sora. Stephen Hawking doing tricks on a half-pipe in his wheelchair? No problem! And Robin Williams's daughter has put out a public request for people to stop making Sora videos of her late dad. It's an AI wild west at the moment, and worryingly so.
DeleteWhere's his 6th finger?
ReplyDeleteWhat I find interesting about your original response (prior to John's workaround) is that AI will happily depict McDonalds in its made up photos... surely they have more money to sue than Morrissey does?
Perhaps they like the free promo.
DeleteThat is scary. As you say above it's the AI wild west at the moment. Same as with robotics at the moment - a lot of very realistic females being created. I can't imagine why.
ReplyDeleteHoping, probably forlornly, that the AI bubble will burst soon.
