Still here, just

To show that I haven't completely dropped off the planet, here's a 22-minute YouTube playlist of six vaguely Halloween-y songs, some obvious, some less so. Which carves your pumpkin? And which leaves you ... cold? Mwah-hah-ha-ha, et cetera...

  1. If push came to shove I'd probably pick Bowie as my favourite from your playlist - it's a close thing though. What isn't close is Number 6 of 6 - Fred Schneider. It was fun playing spot the celeb in the video, but it was no fun at all listening to the song!

    1. Fred Schneider should probably stick to lobsters made of rock, love shacks and planets called Claire, on this evidence.

I'm going to defy popular opinion here, even as a lifelong fan of The Specials and The Jam, but I'd not heard (or seen) Fred Schneider's' "masterpiece" until now and I have to say in this day and age of doom and gloom it made me laugh out loud. That probably says a lot about my me...and not in a good way.

    1. That's exactly why I put it in, mate. Was searching for something else, stumbled across Fred's song, and had a good (and much-needed) laugh.

  4. Another vote from me for Fred Schneider...and he got Kate Pierson in on backing vocals, so it's a win-win for me! All excellent choices but especial thanks for pointing me to Such Small Hands. I was completely oblivious to her music or The Wedding Present connection. Catching up now!

  5. I'll join with the last two commenters and offer another vote for Fred. Never heard that before, but it was fun.
