Moving right along

Robert Redford may have played a slight second-fiddle to Paul Newman in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (though he got the girl), and taken a chance flexing his thespian muscles next to Dustin Hoffman in All The President's Men, but The Sting was his movie, in my book. No mean feat given Newman and Robert Shaw as co-stars. Example: it's a low-key sub-plot, but I love Johnny's interaction with Loretta ... who turns out (spoiler alert) to be Salino.

RIP, Robert.

  1. When someone from the world of film dies, not tragically but having had a long fulfilling life, it is a wonderful opportunity to revisit their body of work, and that's what I've been doing this week. He was a great actor, and drop dead gorgeous, charming and charismatic! My favourite film is still Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid but his portrayal of Hubble Gardiner in The Way We Were gets to me every time I watch it. RIP Robert Redford.

    1. Yes, he leaves quite the body of work. And the Sundance Film Festival too!
