Two great song choices - and what a powerful speech. Happy birthday to Madonna for yesterday. Have been thinking about age quite a bit recently and how there's this ridiculous element of 'shame' attached to getting older (and dare I say, particularly for females for whom the notion of losing one's looks is some kind of sin). Could probably do with having a good old rant about it some time!
Weird, isn't it? We all lose our looks as we get older, but don't we offset it by getting more interesting? And by ostracising the less youthful, as Madge rightly suggests society does, aren't we all missing out?

DeletePost the rant!
I meant to do a post to mark Madge's big day, but then I forgot. Scary that Day of Light is 20 years old. Scarier still that Like A Prayer is 30.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Looking forward to that rant, C!
Funny, isn't it, that when Ray of Light came out, with M at 40, many thought she was already a bit too old to be doing that sort of thing...
