I've only watched the first minute so far as a taster but already hooked by its approach...will have to watch the rest later but at the same time I don't want to because I already know the outcome and I too am depressed about it. And scared... is that on the list?
C has it spot on-(I've only watched ten minutes but will finish it later)-every day another message confirming drastic loss of insects/40,000 deaths from air pollution in not just cities but country and seaside towns etc and nobody still seems to give a monkeys. We're going to hell in a handcart. I will indulge myself in the opening line from a class song from Mr Rossiter's band-"You said that I should look to the future-I've seen it,I'll stay here"
And yes, hell in a handcart is right. I feel the need to shout "wake up!" to people because so many seem to have their heads in the sand, notably politicians and businessmen who choose to line their pockets for the short-term at the expense of the world in the long-term. Wish I knew what the answer was. Whilst the video concludes with a section on what we can do about this, I'm not sure that each individual does their bit (I'm paraphrasing but that's the gist) will be enough - not when whole companies, industries and countries carry on their own destructive paths. Individual action is important but corporate and political change must happen. Must.

ReplyDeleteIt's very watchable, definitely worth three quarters of an hour of anyone's (everyone's!) time.
DeleteThe stages in order: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. I think being scared probably underscores all five :(
