The plan was to take in two gigs this week: The Wedding Present (for what will be the ninth time) and From The Jam (for what would have been the seventh). But bad news - due the the unspecified illness of an unidentified band member, the From The Jam gig will not be happening, re-arranged instead for December, apparently.
Since the FTJ gig would have seen them performing All Mod Cons in full, here's an appropriate song. Doubly so, in fact, as I'll be back on my old stamping ground, seeing family and friends. This is for The Man Of Cheese - see you soon, mate.
Still it's always in the back of my mind...

ReplyDeleteThe Jam have been on my mind this week; twice in three days I've spotted our local Paul Weller lookalike in the village. It's uncanny because he looks a lot like him at the same time as not looking a lot like him.... it's Paul Weller gone strangely wrong. An ageing Paul Weller but with a younger Paul Weller's haircut, then shrunken down and viewed in a Hall Of Mirrors. Day before yesterday he was talking to an overweight middle-aged woman in a leather jacket with dyed black hair and an Essex fake tan, smoking a fag outside the pub. Sometimes real life feels like a dream...
