Well its not your weight! I guess this may relate to a sad slowdown in book sales!! Wait for the 2018 rush....

    1. Indeed, weight is going the other way, probably. Yes, novel sales are on temporary hiatus, it seems. Have been mulling what might change that. Need loads of Amazon reviews, I reckon.

      And hello Megan!

Will get my finger out shortly and whip up a glowing review!

  2. May just be a seasonal blip. If you want more sales at Christmas, I suggest more elves, mistletoe and Coca Cola trucks in your next one.

    1. I'm going to get John Lewis to make me a cheesy ad, with a faux-hip cover version to soundtrack it.

    2. Also...and correct me if I'm wrong...but wasn't one of the central themes of your book that life is inevitably one crushing disappointment after another until we just throw in the towel?

Not that I didn't enjoy / empathise with that...

    1. I look forward to being ripped off by Lana Del Rey in 25 years.

    2. Seriously though I do hope you feel proud of it, you really should do, it's no mean feat to do it in the first place, let alone to sell, and I'm in awe.

    3. I do feel proud. I'm even proud of the feedback I received from another writer, also a well-respected teacher of creative writing, who told me that, after my novel, she had to go and read The Bell Jar or the bit in Jude The Obscure where the kids die, for a bit of light relief.
